Androidland was Google India’s inaugural experiential IP, designed to translate abstract OS features into “superpowers” for a Gen Z audience. Facing a high-noise environment across four cities, Google moved beyond passive demos to a “Gamifying Utility” strategy.
The “Android Playground” featured six immersive zones where technical tools became game mechanics:
Circle to Search: Acted as a real-time gaming coach.
Play Protect: Reimagined as a physical shield against malware.
Gemini: Utilized to generate custom superhero identities.
Pan Fest Arenas: Hosted live BGMI tournaments to showcase hardware performance.
By partnering with top creators like Mythpat, the campaign bridged digital fandom with physical play. The results were record-breaking: 196,000+ attendees were reached, with 88,000+ zone visitors and 12,500+ deep product engagements. Ultimately, Androidland successfully repositioned the brand from a utility provider to a premier gaming and lifestyle enabler for the next generation.
